Our Compost
At Fall River Feedyard, LLC we’re proud to produce our own high-quality compost—taking it from raw manure to sterilized, weed-seed-free, and bacteria-free material that’s perfect for lawns, gardens, fields, and anything you want to thrive!
Over the past few years, we’ve invested in new equipment and rigorous testing to perfect our process. The result? Compost that not only meets high standards but is beneficial for your yards or fields.

Questions? We got answers!
How much is your compost?
It’s just $15 per ton, with a $15 minimum charge.
Cash or Check Only!
On average, a full pickup box is usually a ton.
How do you process your compost?
Great question! Each row is maintained at 140-150 degrees for three days, which helps eliminate any pesky seeds or bacteria. We use a turner to roll the manure and keep an eye on the rows with moisture and temperature probes. We turn the rows to add some oxygen, which helps heat the manure. When it reaches a nice, dry, dirt-like texture, we pile it all together and start fresh with new rows.
When can I get compost?
Anytime! We produce it year-round, so you’re never out of luck.
You can stop by Monday through Friday
between 8:00 AM - 11:30 AM & 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
No need to make an appointment—just swing by the office when you get here!
Required paperwork is available at the office or download, print, and complete at home to save time.
What’s in your compost?
Only the best—cow manure! We start with raw manure from our pens once the cows have moved on. If a pen has any issues, like broken concrete, we clear that out and set it aside in a dedicated pile. This way, we keep your compost clean and free from any unwanted debris.

Knowing what your soil type is will aid in application success. A good rule of thumb for our compost is:
“The heavier the soil, the lighter you apply.”
Sandy = can handle more
Loam = middle ground
Clay = go light and careful
Is there help for loading?
Absolutely! There’s always someone around to help load your compost.
Do you offer delivery?
We don't, but here is a list of Compost/Manure Haulers who have offered their services.
Do you bag your compost?
Our compost is sold by the loose load.
You bring the container — big or small, from a bucket to a semi trailer— and we’ll load it up!”
Can we get just raw manure?
Absolutely! Raw manure is free for the taking.
