Fall River Feedyard, LLC — located in the scenic southern Black Hills near Hot Springs, South Dakota — is the state’s largest custom cattle feeding facility, with a capacity of 25,000 head.
We specialize in feeding cows, yearlings, and calves, using innovative and proven practices to ensure the health and performance of our cattle. Just as importantly, we are committed to the well-being of our employees, fostering a positive, family-friendly environment built on communication and teamwork.
Our crew of about 30 dedicated employees operates across five departments: Maintenance, Feed Mill, Cowboy, Office, and Farm. We continually invest in improvements to provide the best care for both our cattle and people.

FEED:
We offer a diverse range of rations from start to finish with quality ingredients found locally.
MAINTENANCE:
Pens are thoroughly cleaned and scraped down to the established hardpan, ensuring a clean and sanitary start for the next herd. Manure is removed and transported to our composter for processing and reuse.
COMPOST:
We’re proud to produce our own high-quality compost—taking it from raw manure to sterilized, weed-seed-free, and bacteria-free material that’s perfect for lawns, gardens, fields, and anything you want to thrive!
IMPROVEMENTS:
Our crew is continually looking for innovative ways to upgrade facilities and improve animal care to ensure greater efficiency and produce a better product.
